Purpose : electricity production

Installations : Dampierre 1, 2, 3, and 4

Type : pressurized water reactors (CP1)

Location : Dampierre-en-Burly (Loiret) on the Loire, west of Orléans

Operator : Electricité de France

Period of operation: since 1980 (reactors went critical in 1980, 1980, 1981, and 1981 respectively)

Fuel : low-enriched uranium oxide and mixed uranium and plutonium oxides

Nuclear materials : uranium, plutonium, tritium

Nominal capacity : 3,560 MW electric net (890 MW each reactor)

Actual production: total at the end of 2000, 383.9 TWh net (116.6, 110.16, 113.6, 109.5 TWh respectively)

 Dampierre 1, 2, 3, and 4 use Mox fuel.
