Purpose: R&D in the area of fuel with plutonium and reactors; manufacture of Mox

Installations: development and production of fuel, reactors

Type: center, nominally civilian, but including military installations

Location: area of 1600 ha on the east bank of the Durance at Saint-Paul-lez-Durance (Bouches-du-Rhône)

Operator: CEA and, for certain installations, Cogéma and Technicatome

Period of operation: since 1961

Materials handled: plutonium, uranium, tritium, deuterium, thorium
