SAINT ALBAN-SAINT MAURICE

Purpose: production of electricity

Installations: Saint-Alban-1 and -2

Type: pressurized water reactors (palier P4)

Location: between Saint-Alban du Rhône and Saint-Maurice-L’Exil (Isère), on the Rhône, 45 km south of Lyon

Operator: EDF

Period of operation: since 1985 (went critical in 1985 and 1986 respectively)

Fuel: low-enriched uranium oxide

Nuclear materials: uranium, plutonium, tritium

Nominal capacity: 2670 MW electric net (1335 MWe per reactor)

Actual production: at the end of 2000, cumulative total 205.8 TWh net (107.1, and 98.7 TWh net respectively)
